Companies across Australia turn to Kelair Pumps for expertise in mechanical seals.

Whether design, selection, installation or field service, Kelair Pumps can ensure you select the right seals to help maintain, improve and extend the service life of operational equipment, and ultimately increase up-time for our customers.

Kelair Pumps deliver a full range of mechanical seals configurations and component materials to handle virtually any fluid moved by any equipment.

Material Specification Advice:

Mechanical seals come is all shapes and sizes and selecting the right one is important. Kelair Pumps deliver a full range of mechanical seal configurations and component materials to handle virtually any fluid moved by any equipment. We can recommend the appropriate materials or source according to our customers requirement.

Failure Analysis:

Seal failure is often not the primary cause of pump failure. If the root cause is not identified the failure will recur. Close examination of failed seals can give us many clues
as to what may be compromising seal performance. Kelair can assess the details of the application and determine what improvements could be made to the system or its
management. Site visits can be arranged and are a part of the support Kelair provide to its customers.

Types of Mechanical Seal:

  1. General Purpose O-Ring Pusher Seal: A DIN seal suitable for both general and high-pressure duties, primarily in the refinery and petrochemical industries with applications including oils, solvents, water, refrigerants and chemical solutions. Alternative seat designs and material options can be tailored to meet the product and application requirements.
  2. Rubber Bellows: A pillar in the industry and highly regarded for its proven performance across a wide range of conditions, the Type 1 elastomer bellows seal is suitable for use in pumps, blenders, mixers, air compressors, blowers, fans and agitators for applications ranging from water and steam to chemicals and other more corrosive materials. This seal has been widely used across the paper, petrochemical, food processing, wastewater treatment, chemical and power industries.
  3. Metal Bellows: A highly durable seal that provides great strength and resistance to corrosion in applications where environments are particularly aggressive due to high temperatures and harsh media. Suitable applications include acids, caustics, amines and products with H2S.
  4. PTFE Bellows: A polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) seal, used primarily in harsh corrosive environments for applications such as acids, salts, chemically active organic compounds and strong oxidizing and reducing agents.
  5. Gas Seals: The non-contacting and dry-running gas seal is a highly preferred seal among customers all around the world because of its proven ability in gas-handling turbomachinery.
  6. Single and Double Cartridge Seal: Cartridge seals are highly reliable as they are pre-assembled at the factory, pressure tested and shipped as a unit. This has proven to ensure improved performance and dependability as it reduces the possibility of errors that come about because of incorrect installation of the seal. Pre-assembly of the seal not only eliminates the need to measure and set spring compression but also ensures seal faces are protected from damage during installation.

We know the importance of choosing the right equipment to match your process. Whatever your pump requirements, we will help you achieve the best pumping solution.
